I am Professor of Haematology and Stem cell transplantation in Bristol. I am the lead of the acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) service and provide advice nationally and internationally for patients with this disease. I am an expert in transplantation and CAR-T cell therapy in adult ALL, and am a member of the national and European groups for ALL. I am Chief Investigator of a randomised trial of transplantation for ALL-this trial is called ALL-RIC
My book has the following target audiences: 1. Patients with leukaemia and their families, those who have had transplants or CAR-T cells 2.Health care professionals who look after patients with leukaemia 3.All people with an interest in their health (that should be all of us). Many patients with other cancers will be interested in this book
My goal is to allow the reading public to enter the world of the patient with leukaemia, and also experience what it is like to be a doctor treating patients with leukaemia. These patients undergo difficult treatments in the hope of being cured and resuming normal life. Read about Charlie, Nitya and Mike and their inspiring and unforgettable stories
